Indy titan vs mainstream titan: Art Spiegelman VS Will Eisner

It was hard for me to vote for Art: Will’s story is so classic. On the other hand, I believe that Art’s success in bringing comic into the mainstream made the rediscovery of Will possible. Plus: really, while I love Will Eisner, he’s pretty monotonic, no? Look at Art’s Tale of Two Towers, the work he did with Raw, etc.

Art is more than Maus. In fact, when asked when he was going to do another holocaust comic, he said: Who am I? The Elie Wiesel of comics.
